Migration

FL220 — Flight Level Two Two Zero

Speed & Migration $2,500 One week

Move to a stack
built for serious WordPress.

DNS to Cloudflare. Hosting to Kinsta. Properly, with no downtime, one week start to finish. If your aviation organization’s site is slow, fragile, or hosted somewhere that doesn’t return calls, this is the cheapest, fastest fix that doesn’t require a rebuild.

STACK
Where it lives matters.
Where it routes matters.
Done right, once.
Kinsta + Cloudflare

Three hosting situations we see every week.

01
Shared hosting bargain.
Your site lives on a server with 800 other websites. Pages load in 6 seconds on a good day. Google penalizes you in search rankings. Visitors leave before they read your first paragraph.
02
Old “WordPress” plan.
A hosting plan from 2014 that says “WordPress” on the box but runs PHP 7.4, no caching, no CDN, no real backups. The control panel hasn’t been updated in years and nobody at support knows what WP-CLI is.
03
Old developer’s box.
Your site is hosted on a server owned by the developer who built it five years ago. He doesn’t answer email. The DNS is in his name. You don’t have the login. This is the most common one.

Two services. One job each.

We don’t sell hosting. We move you to two best-in-class services and configure them properly. After the move, you own the accounts — you can keep us, fire us, or do it yourself.

Kinsta
Managed WordPress hosting on Google Cloud. Server-level caching, daily backups, staging environments, real WordPress experts at support. Like moving from a county strip to a Class C field — same airplane, completely different experience.
Cloudflare
Global CDN, DNS management, DDoS protection, SSL, and edge caching. Visitors hit the nearest of 300+ data centers instead of waiting on a single origin server. The free tier covers most aviation organizations; we use it accordingly.
Working configuration
SSL, HTTP/3, image optimization, page rules, cache rules, security rules, redirect rules. The list of “things we configured properly so you don’t have to think about them” is long — and it’s all documented in the handover report.
Documentation
Full credentials handover. DNS map. Cloudflare ruleset documented. Kinsta access in your name and email, on your billing. If you fire us tomorrow, you take everything with you. No hostage logins.

What “migration” includes.

Migration is a clearly-scoped service. We move what’s there. We don’t rebuild, redesign, or fix existing content problems — that’s what the Audit and Site Builds are for. Clarity matters.

INCLUDED
Full site clone & verification.
Database, files, plugins, theme — all moved to Kinsta. We test every page on staging before cutover and verify behavior matches the existing site.
INCLUDED
DNS migration to Cloudflare.
Existing DNS records mapped and recreated on Cloudflare. Email records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) preserved exactly so your mail keeps flowing.
INCLUDED
SSL, caching, performance tuning.
SSL configured via Cloudflare. Server-level caching enabled at Kinsta. Image optimization, page rules, and basic security rules applied at the edge.
INCLUDED
Before-and-after performance report.
Real-world Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse scores, and TTFB measurements from before migration and after. The proof that the move was worth it.
NOT INCLUDED
Rebuilding, redesigning, or fixing content.
If your existing site has design or content problems, Migration won’t fix them — you’ll have a faster version of the same site. Discovery + Site Builds is the path for that.
NOT INCLUDED
Ongoing care.
After migration, the hosting runs itself. We don’t manage your WordPress month-to-month unless we built the site. That’s our partnership rule, and it’s not negotiable.

One week. Five steps. No downtime.

The migration runs on a documented timeline. We tell you what’s happening on each day and when the cutover window is. Most aviation visitors won’t notice the change — except the site will be faster.

DAY 01
Audit current setup.
Inventory of plugins, themes, database, DNS, email, current performance baseline. Confirm there are no surprises waiting on the existing host.
DAY 02–03
Build & clone.
Set up Kinsta environment in your name. Clone the full site. Test every page on staging. Configure Cloudflare DNS in pre-launch mode.
DAY 04
Final sync.
Lower DNS TTL. Final database sync to capture last-minute content. Schedule the cutover window with you — usually a low-traffic evening.
DAY 05
Cutover.
Flip DNS at Cloudflare. Verify propagation. Smoke-test every critical page. The new site is live; old hosting stays online for one week as a safety net.
DAY 06–07
Verify & hand over.
Performance report, full documentation, all credentials in your hands. We close the engagement formally so everyone knows where things stand.

Who Migration is for.

A good fit
  • Your site is fundamentally OK but lives somewhere slow, fragile, or hostile
  • You want the hosting in your name, not someone else’s
  • You’re willing to spend $2,500 to fix a real bottleneck
  • You can give us a one-hour cutover window
  • You’d rather have a faster current site than rebuild from zero
Not a fit
  • Your site needs a rebuild, not a move — go to Discovery instead
  • You want us to also fix content, design, or SEO problems — that’s the Audit
  • You expect Migration to come with ongoing monthly care
  • You can’t get the existing-host login (we can sometimes work around it, but it gets expensive)
  • You think Cloudflare or Kinsta are scary new technologies (they’re not — they’re industry standard)

One week from now, your site can be faster.

Tell us where the site lives now, where the DNS lives, and any constraints we should know about. We invoice the day we have credentials and start the same week.
